Albanian Health Fund Board member and 'In His Image" International's Director of International Conferences, Dr. Christopher Jenkins was recently named winner of prestigious annual Smilkstein International Family Medicine Award. Dr. Jenkins clearly exemplifies the qualities upheld by Dr. Gabriel Smilkstein that he believed to be most important including those furthering the development of family medicine education throughout the world. Dr. Jenkins combines medicine and missions by spending four to six months a year overseas; he has expanded his work into consulting with a network of several different countries.
	Dr. John Gillan was awarded the Kiwanis International Governor's World Service Award for 2009-2010. The award recognizes Dr. Gillan's committment and altruistic service to the children of the world.

Dr. John Gillan was honored in 2009 by the President of Albania with the Medal of Gratitude for his contributions to the education of Albanian students in field of dentistry.

	In June, 2008, our own AHF Director, Dr. John Gillan, was recognized for his medical mission work in Albania & Africa in the feature article in the Journal of the Arizona Dental Association. Dr. Gillan has participated in 12 medical mission trips to Albania with the Albanian Health Fund as well as several trips to Africa, Romania, and Kosovo. Read the article here. 	At the February 2008 Board meeting, Dr. Rudy Oehm was recognized for his services to AHF and the Albanian people. Dr. Oehm made 25 trips to Albania in the last 15 years. The board presented Rudy and Marge with a gemstone globe of the world.
